Timothy Swanson

Professor Timothy Swanson obtained PhD's from J.D. University of Michigan in 1982, and later from the London School of Economics in 1991.[1]

Affiliation and Teaching

Professor Swanson currently holds the André Hoffmann Chair of Environmental Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. He also is the Director of the Centre for International Environmental Studies. Previously he held the Chair in Law & Economics at University College London. He has taught law & regulation and international environmental law in the law school, and teaches law & economics and institution-building in the economics department. [2]

Research

His research covers the issues dealing with legal reform and institution building in the areas of environment, intellectual property and technology. He has advised the governments of China, India, and many international and development agencies.
